THE BENEFITS Of Listing and Selling Through FEED CENTRAL
The Feed Central Process From Listing To Sale

Feed Central’s Consignment Marketing Service is a highly successful service. The key to its success is the emphasis placed on quality descriptions i.e accurately describing the hay.

The consignment market service involves suppliers listing feed products for sale via this web site. The suppliers owns the products and is responsible for the product until it sold and then moved.

The Service Has Proven Results it Works for all Bulk Feed Products especially Hay, Grain, Meals and Other Feed Stuff.

How It Works:

  1. This Web Site is the principle means of doing business with Feed Central. This site records thousands of hits per month and is extremely successful. Many suppliers and buyers now prefer to transact with Feed Central via this web-site.
  2. Account Management: Feed Central has a team of account managers whose principle job is it to personally service large and consistent users of stock feed products including hay.
  3. Promotions: We do extensive marketing and promotional activities throughout the year to attract users to this site and to purchase products from feed central.

Our Marketing Objective: To sell and deliver product as described on the Quality Statement™.

Pricing Your Hay: Through the consignment listing service you, the grower, NOMINATE THE PRICE. Feed Central does not set the price. We will be happy to give you feedback on your nominated price once your product is listed with us and/or after it is inspected.

It is important that the price is competitive and we reserve the right to temporarily withdraw your product for sale, if we feel that it is very expensive and therefore effecting the perception of our service

Adjusting Your Price / Listing Details: Our system allows you to adjust your price and listing details (e.g. quantity, storage location, price) at any time. This can be completed on-line.

We do not expect exclusivity on your hay; however, we naturally expect YOU to advise US of any changes prior to US ringing YOU to advice of a sale.

Payment: Feed Central pays growers directly into your nominated Bank Account. Our standard payment terms are:

30 Days from Pick-Up.
In practice we pay on the Thursday closest to the 30th Day after pick-up.

Marketing: In the case of hay Feed Central will begin to market the product after inspection. In the case most other products marketing will begin shortly after you have logged your product for sale with us.

Quality Control: Even when we have inspected product the supplier is still responsible to ensure that the quality of the hay is at least to the standard described.

Keeping In Touch: During peak periods it can be difficult to talk to everyone.

We aim to keep our overheads “lean and mean”, this way we can pass savings back to you. For this reason we have strong preference to use automated communication means, such as email, text messaging etc. If you do not have good access or coverage don’t panic we are still more than happy to talk with you. We also email you weekly to advise you of the status of the listing. This is a great chance to email us back any changes that you wish to make to your listing.

Contracts: When we have a firm order Feed Central BUYS THE HAY from you, the supplier, at an agreed price. At this point a contract is established and formalised on paper via fax, post or email.

The Feed Central Process From Listing To Sale

  1. List your commodity on consignment with Feed Central.
  2. Feed Central representative will visit your farm to inspect the hay.
  3. Feed Central will provide you with your Quality Statement including the Feed Test Report.
  4. Your listing now becomes live on the website.
  5. The advertising fee per month commences from this date. This will be charged via direct debit or credit card on the 20th of each month.
  6. When your hay is sold and removed from the website the monthly charge will be stopped and a receipt/statement will be issued for total amount.
  7. Once we have a buyer interested in your product we contact you, normally by phone, to discuss the details - such as price, volume, delivery schedule, payment terms etc.
  8. Presuming we agree on the detail - it is ONLY AT THIS POINT THAT AN AGREEMENT EXISTS, between Feed Central (as the buyer) and The Supplier (as the seller).
  9. To avoid any potential misunderstanding we fax out a computer generated contract which the supplier needs to sign and fax back to us.
  10. We use one of our accredited transport operators to move the hay from supplier to customer, within the delivery terms nominated on the contract.
  11. After delivery payments are made by direct credit into the sellers nominated bank account. Payment terms are stipulated in writing on the contract. We strictly adhere to these payment terms – our reputation has been built on our payment credentials.
  12. We do everything possible to avoid disputes, however, in the unfortunate event of a dispute arising from the contract the National Agricultural Commodity Marketing Association (NACMA) recommended dispute resolution process will be adopted. If the Feed Central contract does not adequately cover the issue in question, the NACMA Trade Rules will apply.
