FEES - TERMS & CONDITIONS

The following outlines the Terms and Conditions and Fees for a seller to list hay on consignment with Feed Central (including web listing).

If the hay is placed into Forward Order / Open Contract prior to inspection then these terms and fees do not apply, however Feed Central will still Certify / Inspect the hay prior to transport. If sold after inspection part of the fees can be rebated (see below for details).

Inspected hay always gets preference for contracts. Our inspector will contact you once in your area, if you choose not to have your hay inspected then it is highly likely that your listing will be removed from our system and not considered for a Forward Order / Open Contract.

About our Inspection and Daily Listing Fees?

Inspections:
Feed Central inspecting, sampling and feed testing hay gives buyers the confidence to buy “site un-seen”. Post inspection growers receive the Hay Quality Certificate (inc. visual and feed analysis results) and the market appraisal / valuation. In addition the Quality Certificate, Photos, CVD’s etc are all uploaded to the website. We DO NOT ask for exclusivity of your hay and we encourage you to use the Feed Central Quality Certificate to market the hay privately and locally. Most importantly in our system growers set the sell prices. Presuming we sell your hay a substantial part of these fees are rebated.

Daily Listing Fees:
We are committed to running a great website, that has up to date and accurate hay listings. The daily listings fees (just 90cents) is a very modest amount of money designed to encourage growers to keep their prices, quantity and other details up to date. This is good for all of us as no one wants to be associated with a website with outdated and irrelevant information on it.

These fees are modest and are based on the principle of cost recovery. In comparison to other forms of advertising and the significant investment that you have made in your hay to date, Feed Central is exceptionally good value for money. Without these fees it would be necessary for us to dictate prices, pick and choose which lines we inspect and to expect exclusivity – this is not our way of doing business.
