KEY PROGRAM STAGES
1. Getting Started
Call the Feed Central team to:
- Book an inspection with a Feed Central Inspector or
- Apply to the Feed Central Accredited Inspection Program to be able to complete your on-farm inspections yourself.
2. Sowing Inspection
- Condition of the paddock
- Seeding rate and area
- Sowing date and variety details
3. Mid-Season Inspection
- Presence of broadleaf or subtropical weeds
- Monitoring of weed control and crop health
4. Pre-Cutting Inspection
- Determining maturity of crop and of weeds
- Confirming crop has lodged
- Recording full detail of crop prior to cutting
5. Final Inspection
- Visual quality
- Bale specs and condition
- Harvest notes
6. Feed Test
- Independent nutritional analysis
- Confirms energy, protein and moisture levels
- Essential for informed buyer decisions

Weed Safe Program
Weed Safe is an optional classification available to growers already participating in Feed Central’s Seed to Feed Program.
It’s designed for producers with clean paddocks who take extra care to deliver weed-free hay. While Weed Safe is not a guarantee, it is a clear way to differentiate your product in the marketplace and attract buyers who value strong biosecurity standards.

HOW IT WORKS
Weed Safe is available to growers in the Seed to Feed Program. Contact the Feed Central Grower Services team to get the process started.
- Applicants are screened by our Grower Services team to ensure they meet the necessary requirements.
- CVD (Commodity Vendor Declaration) is mandatory to qualify for Weed Safe
- Each Weed Safe lot requires the grower to completed a weed declaration
