In the crude protein guessing competition, take a look at our provided hay sample and make an educated estimation of its crude protein content and metabolisable energy. The closest answer will win the prize. Hint: greener and more pungent hay is associated with higher crude protein content.
For the hay bale weight competition, show off your estimation skills and submit your best guess. Guess as close as you can to the actual weight, and the participant with the most accurate guess will take home the prize.

By submitting an entry to this giveaway (the “Giveaway”), you acknowledge that you have read and agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of Feed Central, and that you satisfy all eligibility requirements.
The Giveaway (“Giveaway”) is open to all Australian residents aged 18 or older at the time of entry, where legally permitted. Employees of Feed Central (the “Sponsor”), its respective parent, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, and immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of each are not eligible to enter or win. The giveaway is governed by Queensland law and is subject to all applicable state laws and regulations. Void where prohibited by law. No purchase is necessary to enter or win. A purchase will not improve your chances of winning.
HOW TO ENTER:
To enter the Giveaway, follow all onscreen instructions to complete and submit the online entry form (“Primary Entry”). All entries must be received between 8am 14/08/2023 and 17:00 16/08/2023 (“Giveaway Entry Period”). Online entrants are subject to all notices posted online including but not limited to the Sponsor’s privacy policy.
Entry to the competition is based on skill rather than chance. To participate, entrants must submit their guess for the protein, metabolisable energy, and weight of a hay bale. The winner will be determined by the closest answer to the actual weight, with a margin of .1Kg allowed. In the event of a tie, the first entry received will be declared the winner. The competition is designed to test participants’ estimation abilities, and the accuracy of the guess will determine the final outcome.
PRIZES:
Prize includes: There are 2 (two) prizes, consisting of 2 (two) Hay Corers, with one being awarded to the winner of the Protein Competition and one being awarded to the winner of the Hay Bale Weight competition. If the winner is unable to receive the prize, then it will be forfeited, and an alternate winner may be selected from among the remaining eligible entries. Prizes may not be transferred or assigned except by Sponsor. The prize is not redeemable for cash and is non-assignable and non-transferable.
DRAW:
1 (one) winner will be selected based on either a) correctly answering the Protein Competition and 1 (one) winner will be selected based on correctly answering the Hay Bale Weight Competition entry question, or b) being the closest estimate to the entry questions, from all eligible entries received at the AFIA Fodderganza, Bendigo at 17:00 on 16/08/2023 by a representative from the Sponsor whose decisions are final. Winners will be notified on the day if in attendance, or by phone or alternatively email within 7 days. If the winner does not claim the prize within 7 days, they forfeit the prize which may be subject to a redraw.
Any other incidental expenses on the prize not specified herein are the sole responsibility of the winner. Entry and acceptance of the prize constitute permission to use the winner’s name, prize won, hometown, and likeness for online posting and promotional purposes without further compensation, except where prohibited by law.
Participating entrants agree to these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, and release, defend and hold harmless the Sponsor and its affiliated companies, from all claims and liability relating to their participation, acceptance, and use or misuse of the prize. The Sponsor is not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing of the offer, administration of the Giveaway or in the announcement of the prize.
ODDS OF WINNING:
Although this is a draw based on skill, not chance, the odds of winning the competition depend on the number of eligible entries received during the Competition Entry Period and whether the correct answer is guessed by an entrant.
If no one guesses the correct answer, the entrant who guesses the closest number will receive the prize.
DATA USAGE AND PRIVACY:
By participating in the Competition, entrants agree that any information provided may be used by Feed Central for administrative, communication, and marketing purposes. This may include contacting entrants for future offers and promotions. All information will be collected, used, and disclosed in accordance with Feed Central’s Privacy Policy. Participants have the right to access, update, or correct their information at any time in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
ARBITRATION:
This Giveaway shall be governed by and interpreted under the laws of Queensland, Australia. By participating, entrants agree that any and all disputes arising out of or relating to this Giveaway shall be litigated only in courts sitting in Queensland, Australia.
The personal information collected from each entrant in the course of the Giveaway will be used by Feed Central for the purposes of administration of the Giveaway and as otherwise permitted in accordance with Feed Central’s Privacy Policy.
